About Piedmont Community Services

Community Services Boards are joint partnerships between local and state governments, and they provide Mental Health, Developmental and Intellectual disabilities and Substance Use Ddisorder services.  Initially created by the Virginia General Assemble in 1968, there are now 40 Community Services Boards.  CSB's are agents of local communities and operate under regulations of the Virginia Department of Behavioral Health and Development Services.

Formed in 1972, Piedmont Community Services has provided our community with behavioral health services for over 40 years.  We serve the City of Martinsville and the counties of Henry, Franklin and Patrick.  Each year we provide services to over 7,500 individuals.

Our Guiding Principals

SERVICES:  We are dedicated to helping individuals, families and the community to achieve their potential by providing the highest quality behavioral health services.

STAFF:  We respect and value staff as our greatest asset and create a work environment that empowers each person to use their personal and professional expertise.

COMMUNITY:  We are part of our community and will involve and value all stakeholders in decision-making and operations.

COLLABORATION:  We believe the key to achieving our Mission is the involvement of staff and consumers in collaborative decision-making that emphasizes mutual respect.

ETHICS:  We will demonstrate integrity and ethical behavior in all or business practices and professional conduct.
